ADVOCATES: In an effort to promote the benefits of music therapy and foster an appreciation for "The Arts", Smiles for Special Hearts encourages musicians to donate free concert tickets/backstage passes for their fans who are disadvantaged/special needs individuals so they can have an opportunity to experience live entertainment events. Smiles for Special Hearts is a registered "Charitable Organization" in the State of Maryland. .
CO-COORDINATOR: In 2002, we held the "first ever" international BSB Fan Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Fans traveled from ALL OVER THE WORLD to attend, i.e., United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa and from all over the U.S.
This event was primarily a fundraiser to help raise money for The Backstreet Boys' individual charities. Also in attendance each year were Jackie Littrell (Brian's Mom) and reps from the Healthy Heart Club, Paula Dorough (Howie's mom), Angie Herring (Howie's Sister) and reps from the Dorough Lupus Foundation and Vicki & Jim Hanna from Kevin's Just Within Reach.
